If you need ideas for Imagine Cup 2009 project, check here and see the list of 7 ideas for Imagine Cup Invitationals. This year's theme is "Imagine a world where technology helps solve the toughest problems we face today." and I would try to provide some suggestions.

You can see that topic is very broad. As a step to the challenge and take the problem?

Here are some tips to experiment with the options:

Poverty in the world- Explore new business models in private parts of the world, in particular models of thinking about revenue-sharing, micro-credit …

Hunger – Developing and think of new concepts for small communities in areas with shortages of water and other resources which they can produce and sell their products and a decent living from it?

Sustainability – How to develop and society in general, but without environmental damage and otherResources (think small farms, recycling ideas, the responsible use of resources, the fight against erosion and landslides, with a little planning, urban development …).

Gender equality – How to enable both sexes in all areas of human work, try searching the comparative advantages of both kind of inspired by the great figures of history of the development of teaching resources about …

Combating HIV / AIDS, malaria and other diseases – This isa big one. Of course is not to be invited to deliver the entire solution for you alone, but think of those facilitating the work of doctors to improve the quality of service in hospitals, patients may engage in the healing process of thinking about mathematical models for disease suppression, play with numerical methods and see how to display and present them in a big way that is easy to use and understand.

Climate change and the challenges associated withthat – Mathematics and (geo) physical models, simulations, or just awesome tool for educational awareness worldwide. Think of all the challenges of virtualization and can be in the reduction of power consumption, but fast growing computing power and development. (I'd bet on a virtualization thing if I could compete again this year).

Anything else you just think it's great, no matter it is not (referred to here after all this is just my personalList of all of you shared – do not hesitate to order it in and I could add comments to post event follow-up on it).

Bonus tip: Do not groped to invent or create the problem – simple solution to exist. Best tip I can share with you my personal experience – talk to real people about their real problems and challenges they are facing. For NGOs. Ecological and environmental organizations, municipalities and hospitals. Talk to any person or organization thatmight find interesting. And always, always, in fact, listen to them, and even when their problems might not be so attractive to you, as you might expect look – I think more than once. Developing the idea of drawing a few sketches and then again – talk to them.

The United Nations has identified some of the toughest challenges in the world today in its Millennium Development Goals – and look for links to other resources, at the end of this article. Take a look at their United Nations Development Goals WebPage.
